The Hobby Table 4-9-19

Hey Everyone!  Today I wanted to catch you up on some of my recent hobby before diving back into some Adepticon coverage later this week.  After coming home from Adepticon, and avoiding the dreaded con-crud I found my urge to paint the highest it has been all year.  It is a typical feeling as most of you are aware to be excited to hobby after a big event and I aimed to take the bull by the horns!

After returning home I decided to finish up a unit of ten Sisters of Slaughter I had left 80% complete prior to the event as some low hanging fruit to get painting as soon as possible.  I quickly knocked these out and added them to the other twenty I have had done for some time in order to max out the unit.  To keep with the tradition I have been unknowingly following for the army I decided to paint up a hero to pair with them.  I had a spare Witch Elf from the Dark Elf Blood Bowl kit and I decided to add her to my arsenal of Hag Queens!  I really find painting a small hero a nice reward after spending time with larger units.

In a bit of a hobby impulse buy, I finally picked up a copy of Warhammer Underworlds Nightvault.  On a whim, I decided to stop at one of my FLGS which is usually full of Warhammer 40k, and X-Wing any night of the week.  To my surprise, there was a very healthy Underworlds community who had been playing for a while and even had a recent league under their belt.  I knew I wanted to jump in with them I am very excited to get cracking with this game once more.

With the paint flowing and my hobby drive only growing I felt the need to immediately knock out the latest unit of Witch Aelves I purchased at Adepticon.  I tried to be a bit cheeky with it all, but either people missed the large Slaanesh symbol I painted on my desk, or more likely everyone is sick of my painting Witch Aelves, I was actually painting them up in Slaanesh colors with grey/purple skin, purple hair, etc… as a “Counts As” unit of Daemonettes.  I plan to have no more than ninety Daemonettes in my army to pull from and this little bit of fun put me up to sixty!  I am very much looking forward to the Slaanesh release and am primed to go when those gorgeous new models drop!

With that all done it is time to head back to my beloved Daughters of Khaine and I am currently working on a throwback variant of Tayrathi for my army.  Before Aethermy touched her she was a simple Hag Queen in the service of Morathi riding atop a Cauldron of Blood.  As you know I really enjoy exploring this character and it is fun to have models for her past as well as her present and future.

I hope your hobby is going strong and that you avoided any sickness if you attended Adepticon.  Be sure to come back Thursday where I talk a bit more about my time helping at this past years Adepticon Age of Sigmar events.  Happy Hobbying!
