The Hobby Table: 5-28-19

Hey Everyone!  Today I wanted to do another Hobby Table update as I have been pretty busy over the past few weeks and that trend is likely to continue for the next few months.  From random hobby to new releases I have been building and painting almost daily. Admittedly, my hobby has been a bit all over the place, but with the Rend 4 event in July and NOVA fast approaching my hobby needs to get much more focused.  Also, I plan to do a review of the recently released Forbidden Power later this week so be sure to check back for that on Thursday.

One of the items I have been able to cross off my painting list has been my project for Realms at War 2019.  As you know I sadly won't be attending, but the event last year really inspired the lore for my Daughters of Khaine army and I decided to build for the event as if I was attending.  This year everyone needs to create a Regiment of Renown which I managed to finish painting the last few models recently. I did take time to take some shots of the unit together as a whole, but I plan to keep them filed away until much closer to the event in October.

As you are aware Forbidden Power released this past weekend and I immediately dived into the box.  I will run through more of my thoughts in my review this Thursday, but for now, I want to show off the models I built from the kit.  There were pretty simple to put together although the Terrain piece did give me a bit of trouble. It took some patience, but I am happy with how it came out and I even added a few extra Swordmaster models as Statues to stand guard on the terrain piece.

I kept the Endless Spell hobby moving with finally putting paint to my Stormcast Spells.  I tried to keep them simple in order to knock them out quickly. They were mostly dry brushing with a quick wash to help match it to the army.  I also decided to paint up the spare Swordmaster model I had after using the rest on my Forbidden Power Terrain piece. These sculpt were the first Warhammer models I ever put paint on and it was fun just taking my time and reliving the joy of painting this model.  It now sits proudly on my hobby shelf and it was a nice little hobby distraction. I also built ten more Reavers in preparation for the Rend 4 event in July.

The last bit of hobby was finishing up my Sylvaneth Warband for Warhammer Underworlds.  I have been enjoying playing them in my local Underworlds League and it is nice to finally have them painted up for some games.  I still need to tidy up the basing a bit, but they are ready to use and I am happy with how they turned out.

I hope your hobby has been going well and be sure to check back Thursday to dive into my first review on the blog as I take a look at Forbidden Power.    Happy Hobbying!
