Happy New Year! It's the first Monday of the new year which means a fresh new Hobby Update for you all! I hope you all had a great holiday season and are ready to crush this new year of 2023 in Warhammer and the gym! Let's get right into the last week, shall we?
With a low-key New Years' Eve, I knocked out just a few more models while relaxing to bring my total model count for 2023 to 1058! It is an incredible feather in my cap and from AoS, to WHFB, to 40k, and loads of terrain for the US Open series I can say I painted my heart out, and I cannot wait for what the next year brings, but I am hoping for fewer models painted and bit more gaming with friends!
My FLGS owner and friend also gave me a mighty gift in the 4th edition Magic Supplement for WHFB! It is a wonderful piece of history that I have been enjoying going through and perhaps will get it on the table for a game at some point in the future, but first I would need to learn 4th edition.
I did sneak in a game this past week in the form of Warhammer 40k using my Ynnari! I love this army and watching it push across the table to victory in a fun and chill game was a wonderful final game to end the year on!
With the new year ahead I have a few projects lined up thanks to holiday gift-giving. An Imperial Guard Crusade force, focused on Catachan, is up next (even got a few models built Jan 1!) followed by a Fyreslayer army after that. Napoleonics will happen this year, but the models have been slow to come in so it is being pushed to the back of the line for now.
