Community All-gates : 12-3-18

Hey Everyone!  Welcome to the "Community All-gates", the weekly feature on The Realm Gate Blog where every Monday I plan to highlight something or someone from around the Age of Sigmar and Miniature Painting Community.  It might be an Event, a YouTube Channel, Blog, Army List, Model, Hobby Project, or anything else that catches my eye.  Today I wanted to encourage you to go pick up the latest Black Library releases about the luckiest, or perhaps the unluckiest, Slayer there ever was. Gotrek Gurnisson makes his way into the Mortal Realms in all his stubborn glory.

When I was getting into Warhammer Fantasy years ago a big part of what hooked me was the lore and losing myself in various Black Library Novels.  One of the biggest to me was the Gotrek and Felix novels that I began to read in quick succession when I came across them early on.  Once I had caught up to the current release I had the agonizing wait until the next book was in my hands.  I loved the main series, the short stories, and every bit of Gotrek and Felix I could digest.  When the series wrapped up during The End Times I was heartbroken, but I was satisfied with the ending.

When it was announced that Gotrek was stepping into The Mortal Realms I was eager to see how the surly Slayer would react, but was a bit cautious about how bringing a character from the old setting would play out.  I knew it was possible to bring him in with how the series "ended" and I can safely say it is being handled exceptionally well after finishing these two entries.  I plan to do a review of each of them in the near future, but for now, I can only say is that they are a must listen/read and you should really pick them both up!

Happy Hobbying!
