The Hobby Table: 5-16-19

Hey Everyone!  Today I wanted to give another Hobby Table update as I have had a decent amount accomplished since the last post.  From Slaanesh, To Daughters of Khaine, to Sylvaneth, to terrain building, and even another commission it has been busy in my hobby world.  I am also working on another Lore Series post for next week that will cover Malerion’s past so be sure to come back next week to check it out when it releases!

Beginning with my May commitment for the Tale of Four Warlords club challenge happening I finished up The Everqueen and her mount.  The beetle was a bit intimidating to begin, but once the paint began flowing it quickly became an enjoyable model to paint.  Likewise, Alarielle was a fun model to put paint on.  I feel like I could keep adding more and more to the model, but I am very happy with how they turned out.  After setting the model on my shelf with my other Sylvaneth it really cemented in my how happy I am to have switched to a spring color palette for the army.

As you might have seen in my last post about, bringing your character to life on the tabletop, I have finished the final version I had planned for my Tayrathi character.  I already have plans for her to lead a small temple nest force this weekend and I am very excited to take Tayrathi into the realm of spell casting.  I also wanted to share a model I have had done for a while, but I don’t recall showing all of you.  My second Hag Queen on Cauldron was completed a while ago, complete with a statue fo Morathi as the Avatar on top.  The model pairs nicely with my other Hag Queen on Cauldron who has a Tyrion Statue on it as a throwback to The End Times.

I want to give a big shout out to my Friendly Local Game Store, The Toy Soldier Gallery, who have always supported everything I have been doing in my local area in regards to Age of Sigmar.  Norm, the owner, recently secured a rather large donation of Terrain for the local club.  This is only the first part of the project, but I have been wanting to revamp the Age of Sigmar terrain at my club for some time and soon it will be a reality!  Norm and his wife are also commission painters and they recently finished the Lord of The Ring miniatures I asked them to paint for me.  I love how they turned out and really looking forward to getting a few games in with them.

As you might be aware I am very excited about the recent Slaanesh release, its lore, and getting the army on the table.  I am not rushing the army as my first event planned for it will be Holy Havoc much later this year.  However, I do plan to play the army here and there before then so I built up the Endless Spells and terrain feature.  I also want to give thanks to Paul W. for gifting me some extra Daemoettes he has laying about as well bringing my total to 50.  Another 10 and I will be set for the lists I have planned.  With my Battleotme safely in hand, I have a lot of planning to do and lore to look into as I begin getting the force on the board.

I hope your week has been full of hobby and please feel free to share what you are working on int he comments below.  Be sure to check back next week for the promised Lore Series all about Malerion and his past.  Happy Hobbying.
