Weekly Hobby Update 3.27.23

Hello and Happy Monday friends!  Thankfully, I got home from my four-day Warhammer gaming marathon to write today's blog post on time!  While Adepticon was going strong over in Illinois I was lucky to attend a smaller, but just as exciting event in Adeptiwont (as in won't be going to Adepticon this year) over in Ohio with some great friends!  Plenty of games, hobby, and purchases are below after the break!

Before diving into Adeptiwont first was my weekly game night where we all got to watch the Adepticon previews live as a group!  I am beyond excited for The Lion's return and absolutely love his model!  I cannot wait for it to release and to use it as an excuse to update my Dark Angels to a more Primaris-focused army while we all wait for more of the new edition of Warhammer 40k to be revealed!  I also played another game with my new Tomb Kings army while we waited for the reveals to start and I am loving my time diving into this army, its playstyles, and list building!  Hopefully another game with the army this coming week!

As far as painting goes I managed to build and paint the new Daughters of Khaine Underworlds Warband for my Army list this past weekend.  They were a joy to paint and I am excited to get them into my army lists and was quite surprised by their output for their points cost.  Well worth a look and see if you can squeeze them into your DoK lists.  Outside of my own painting I also assisted Neil (this year's Adeptiwont host) with 21 Slaanesh models he needed to have painted up quickly.  It was fun to knock them out quickly and help a friend.

Adeptiwont was an amazing time with some of the coolest people I know and I got to meet a few more awesome folks as well.  We shared food, drink, and Warhammer stories, and rolled plenty of dice!  Tune into the upcoming podcast that will review the event to get even more details, but for now, I can let you know I went 4-1 (Across WHFB/AoS/40K) and took plenty of trophies home to my display shelf.  I am jazzed up for more Warhammer soon!

While at Adeptiwont a few of us fitness-inclined folks snuck off to have a little fitness challenge.  I kept close and hit 4 PRs during the challenge (I am especially proud of the 375# Squat PR), but placed last by half a point at the end.  Big weight was moved and we cheered for one another.  I am happy to have been there with Mike and Aleks win or not!

A few hobby purchases arrived as well this past week with the latest Arks of Omen Book, My Kharadron Overlords Battletome (not pictured), and many Dwarfs/Duardin for my various armies!  My Dawrf Vacation is continuing, but I did sneak in a Dark Elf Sorceress and a gift of a Sorceress on Pegasus from Neil to help break up the beards!

I hope you have a great week everyone and until next week, Happy Hobbying, and Stay Stormcast Strong!
