Hello all! I am very much in the mood to write up Tayrathi lore as of late and I had a version of Tayrathi I never wrote andy background for with my Drukhari Army. As such I wanted to write up a short piece of lore for this version of Tayrathi as we move into 10th edition 40k. Tayrathi abruptly awoke in a cold sweat sitting upright in her plush bed. Fear gripped her for a but a moment. A moment too long for any leader in Drukhari society.
The dream was the same each time. Tayrathi, clearly floating in a tank of clear liquid, paralyzed entirely, saw an unknown Haemonculus talking to a nearby figure. What they were saying was unknown, but just as she started to make sense of the surroundings in her limited view the unknown figure walked up to the tank she was held within. The figure she recognized instantly as it was Tayrathi herself. It was as if a mirror was held before her, but the Tayrathi she saw was not her, but a true duplicate wearing crimson armor in the style of the Drukhari’s Craftworld cousins…
It was during this moment of recognition she would always awake. These dreams were frequent and the same each time and unsettled Tayrathi to her core. She had no memory of this moment other than this dream and was sure she had never been in the position the dream placed her. Who would clone her and for what purpose anyway? Tayrathi was the leader of one of the most prestigious Wych Cults of all Commorragh so replacing her would be a true feat worthy of Vect himself, but she was still in his favor and did well to stay well below his radar as often as possible.
“I am the one true Tayrathi and cannot be replaced. It is just a silly dream and nothing more.” She whispered to herself to calm her nerves.
Despite the mantra she couldn’t face the nagging feeling that perhaps what she saw was a real memory buried deep inside her….and perhaps she was the clone of the true Tayrathi…
